Drupal: Default Input Format

This article is devoted to default input format for role or node type. Setting the default input format, you do not need to select format for every node created.


How can you set default input format?
  • Using Filter Default module
  • This module allows to set default input format for new node and comments for every role on the site. It adds “Default” tab to the page (Administer > Site configuration > Input formats), where you are able to manage settings.
  • Using Default Filter module
  • The module allows to set default input format for node, node type and role. There is no need to check the type every time creating a node.
Summary
  • Filter Default module is developed since December, 2006 and Default Filter – since August, 2007. The first module is older.
  • And authors of both these modules  often take part in modules development…
